iPad Smart Cover rust

Hello everyone,

I noticed that there is rust on my iPad Pro 9.7" Smart Cover.

User uploaded file

I know, it's just a little spot, but I'm still worried because it happened with my previous iPad's Smart Cover to (iPad 3).

My previous Smart Cover is not only damaged, my previous iPad was damaged to. So that's why I'm so worried about it.

I'd really like a solution for this, is there a way to prevent it from rusting?

Please, if you can answer this, let me know!

How long have you have your iPad and did you purchase extended, 2-year AppleCare+ for it?

If you have AppleCare+ for your iPad then you have to pay the $49 U.S.D. for a refurbished, replacement iPad.

It is stated right in the warranty statement

It's the only way you are going to get a replacement iPad.

I have found the same problem. There seems to be an orange rust like substance on the magnetic strip of the keyboard. This has then scratched the side of my iPad as well. I phoned apple support today and they have booked me an appointment to have it looked at in store. It is not something that will wipe off and now the iPad is damaged I cant remove the mark from there either. I have attached pictures to see if we are having the same problemUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file
