Q: ios 9.3.1 time is wrong

Hello,

My wife got an iPhone 5s and she recently updated it to iOS 9.3.1. Since that update the clock was set to be 30 minutes earlier, when it is being set automatically.

The timezone is being set corrected, but the time is wrong.

We tried to reset the phone but with no luck. I also updated my iPad to version 9.3.1, but the clock there was correct.

More importantly, we just bought the iWatch and we are afraid to activate it, so it won't sync with the phone's clock and ironically, the real clock will be off.

Thanks.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.1

May have to contact your carrier but check here for options

I am also having this issue. Interestingly, it seems to only be affecting older devices. We upgraded an iPhone 6, iPad Mini (latest) and an iPhone 5C. It was only the 5C that is now experiencing clock issues and they are also affecting iMessage activation (which is a known issue when you set your clock manually to the wrong time).

    I have:

    - Toggled iMessage

    - Signed out of and back into my AppleID on the device

    - Rebooted

    - Reset to factory settings

The time is still wrong, and iMessage is still experiencing activation problems. Also something to note, I have met two other people with this issue both of whom had recently upgraded to 9.3.1, one with an iPhone 5 and the other with a 5C like me. One of these people spent 3 hours with Apple at a retail store and was then referred to her carrier stating it was a network issue. The carrier of course denied that their network would affect Apple devices communicating with Apple's own time servers and sent her back to them.
