Can I use my old 30 pin Ipod dock as speakers for my computer? Is there an adapter that would let me plug it into the speaker jack on my desktop?

I like the sound of my ipod dock better than the external computer speakers. I'm looking for a way to use the dock AS my computer speakers.

Does the iPod speaker-dock accessory have an auxiliary audio input. It looks like the headphones jack on the iPod. Or, it may have a pair of (red/whtle) "RCA" connectors, for audio input. In either case, you can use the appropriate audio cable to connect your computer to the speaker-dock. For example, if it has an auxiliary audio input, you can use a cable like this (assuming your computer has a headphones jack for audio output)

No. It has a jack for a headphone and it's got a 30 pin connection the Ipod slides onto. I bought a second one of this dock when the first one decided it wouldn't work on batteries, because I really liked the sound.

Let me be clear as to exactly what I want to do. I'd like a cord with one end that would be the same 30 pin connector that is in the Ipod, so I can slide it onto the connector in the base. The other end would have a jack that would plug into the "speaker out" of my desktop. Hopefully that would let me play music from my desktop through the dock.
