I just bought a new mac mini 2014. What do I need to connect my Apple cinema display monitor?

It looks like I will need an adapter to use my Apple monitor with my new mac mini. I see Walmart carries a GE DVI to HDMI adapter. Am I correct to assume this will work?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

One question, I thought, the Mac would have an mini display port and you may need an adaptor from this.

Technically, it does.

Your 2 Thunderbolt ports can also be used as Mini-Displayport ports, the physical plug configurations are the same. In general, Displayports were designed to be used for computer monitors and HDMI was designed for use with HD TVs.
