Q: Sound not working in Boot Camp Windows 10

Hi there. Can I please get some help to get my sound working in Windows 10?

I have a MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) running an SSD with NO OSX, I only run Windows OS, and the original Apple software/configuration has been deleted.

The boot Camp Software I have installed in Windows 10 is the 5.1.5621, which is correct according to the support pages, however, as it gets to the end of the set-up, it seems to hang on installing the sound. Everything else is working perfectly, I just have no sound.

Any help\insight would be appreciated.

W10 is not supported by 5.x BC drivers. It requires BC6 drivers.

You may want to consider How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support and then downloading the BC6 drivers for your Mac from Apple using BC Assistant.

If Apple Software Update available from BC6 is installed, it will provide updates. But without BC6 drivers you have an older version.

Another option is using Brigadier - https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier . Your 2012 Mac has Cirrus Audio. You can also look for the specific drivers via a Web Search.
