Q: Internal Speakers Malfunction

I updated my MacBook Air to OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 and when it turned back on my internal speakers were malfunctioning. I plugged in headphones to reset the Sound Output and my speakers returned, but at first they sounded scratchy after I went over 7 bars and now they sound extremely low when they are on the highest bar. Could this be a bad reaction from my computer to the new software? Or is it just my speakers? What can I do to fix the issue?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

I installed the update and now my headphones don't work either, can I reverse the update to go back to my software before the Capitan 10.11.4?
