Q: ipad4 restore/DFU restore failed

Just passed by warranty period it starts to have blue screen, App store asks $299 to replace for a new one, so it sit in drawer for a while. Now I learned a bit so I tried to connect to a PC and installed latest 13.3.3 iTune, after failure I removed other USB devices tried different port stoped antivirus etc:

1. first I entered upgrade/restore mode, tried upgrade and it starts to download for along, after download it shows nothing and I thought it failed;

2. I restarted iTune or ipad4 and chosen restore, it failes with error 14;

3. I then tried a few times both upgrade/restore all failed at error;

4. Then I tried to enter DFU mode, use restore still fail.

5. I checked log file and quite match this case: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5376586?start=30&tstart=0

I can't do it because I use Windows7/PC, if I use terminal to connect ipad4 I get to know comm port - but PC to ipad4 is USB cable iTune

6. I can't find any command list or how to use console under DFU with ipad.

7. I worked 3 hours and now ipad4 always shows image like I connected to PC, even in wall charging, and I can't check the charging status.

8. Before I doing these, the screen doesn't work property, messed up or so, so possible h/w problem?

    Greetings lastguy,

    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

    I understand that you have been trying to restore your iPad because it started to display a blue screen, but have been unsuccessful restoring it. I also understand that you received error 14 while attempting the restore.

    To continue troubleshooting this situation, I recommend working through the steps from the following article for error 14.

    Check your USB connections

    If you see error 4005, 4013, or 4014, learn what to do. If you see one of the errors below, you might have a USB connection issue:

    • 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650
    • 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009
    • An error message that includes, "invalid response"

    Use these steps to see if the issue is with your USB cable, USB port, or computer. Try again after each step:

    1. Use the USB cable that came with your device. If you don't have it, try a different Apple USB cable.
    2. Switch to a different USB port on your computer. Don't plug into your keyboard.
    3. Plug into a different computer.
    4. If you still see the error, you can check for other USB issues, issues with third-party security software, and issues with hardware.
