Software Update

Hi :-) I hope someone may be able to help me :-)

I have purchased an Apple Sports Watch yesterday. I have the latest version of IPhone software 9.3.1 and I am able to turn my watch on, select the language and locate the picture the watch bring up to pair the phone and watch. It says checking for update, then says it needs to download watch os 2.2, I agree to the terms and conditions and then is says it is "paused" and sits there for ages and no status bar is brought up. I have restarted the iPhone and watch and it keeps doing the same thing. I am threathering from my iPhone (using mobile data from my phone) to do the update. Would this be the issue that is holding up the download? Should I go to someone who I can use their actual wi-fi to download properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance :-)

Hi

Your iPhone must be connected to Wi-Fi in order to update the software on your watch.

Be sure to also follow all of the other instructions in the following support article (including first charging your watch to at least 50% and keeping it on the charger and connected to power throughout the process):
