has anyone bought the 2016 Hallmark card studio for mac? I am having problems with the programme shutting down unexpectedly.

Anyone suggest a cure for my iMac shutting down when trying to edit projects in Hallmark Card studio? Hallmark support have tried several remedies to no avail and suggest its something in my iMac which is affecting the programme. Any suggestions?

The software is supposed to be El Capitan compatible according to the Hallmark site. Unfortunately that doesn't always mean it is. You could try updating to OSX 10.11.4 and see if that helps. You should also download etrecheck and post the results here.as cdhw mentioned. It could be some kind of software conflict which might show in the report.

I've updated to 10.11.14 and this didn't have any effect. As suggested, I've also downloaded etrecheck and this is the report:

EtreCheck version: 2.9.11 (264)

Download EtreCheck from https://etrecheck.com

Runtime 1:44

Performance: Excellent

I've only had the mac for a short while and am still learning, but I have limited knowledge of the tech stuff, so any help would be welcome.

This does not look like the cause of the problem is anything to do with your Mac. You have an unusually clean installation with no third-party extensions that are likely to cause an issue. This will almost certainly only be fixed when Hallmark developers correct a bug in their app, but just for kicks and giggles use:

Finder > Go > Go to Folder ...

and paste this into the dialog

~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/

Select one of the files, preferably the most recent, with a name starting 'Hallmark Card Studio 2016_2016' and upload it here.

That's not a valid url for pastebin.

1. Go to http://www.pastebin.com/

2. Paste the crash report text into the 'new paste' text box

3. Click the 'Create New Paste button'

4. Your browser will open a new page with a url something like this: http://pastebin.com/3QKYtftN

5. That's the url we need to see.

The only gotcha is you need to pause your Adblocker, if you use one.
