can i play both guitar and midi keyboards at the same time?

Im using main stage 3, I would like to play guitar and midi keyboards at the same time. I know I can have more than one keyboard going at the same time but I cant figure out how to play guitar also. I am using a Alesis core 1 to plug in the guitar and a Keith McMillen 12 Step midi controller, it reads both just fine alone, but wont play them together. how can I make this happen? Also, Im using a MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan.

Thanx,

Mike

Did you add an audio channel strip and assign the input to the Alesis Core 1?

Create a software instrument channel strip. Click on the right side of the input box to open the menu. Select Playback. To load an audio file click on the cog wheel to to the right of the file box. Select open file. For more complete explanation, select help>MainStage help. Then type in Playback plug-in in the search bar when the window opens.
