Apple Unknown IP addresses in ARP table?

Since I added two Apple TV 4s to my network via ethernet and using static IPs, I am noticing many entries in an IP Address scan for unknown IP addresses that appear to be bound to the ATV hardware.

I am at a loss for why this is happening or how to resolve it. I unplugged my ATV hardware and rebooted the routers and switches, flushed the ARP on the mac I use to scan ports, but the entries continue to show.

This is an example of what I am seeing. Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Strange. Let's see.

Have you configured your DHCP router to exclude the static addresses from the DHCP pool? Why use static addresses, anyway? Are the reported addresses in the DHCP pool range?

Have you configured the static addresses in the ATVs? Along with correct values for gateway and nameserver?

These are obvious questions, but need to check.

They're all last seen at the same time, which I assume is the time of the scan. That would just mean their leases have not yrt expired. What is your DHCP lease duration?

Do you use wifi for devices that come and go? That might explain some racheting of IP values.

Do you use AirPlay from a device on one wifi network to an ATV on another network? In other words, do you need bluetooth to make AirPlay work?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!.

I have only recently started to segregate static IPs from the DCHP pool. I never really had a problem with this but have had issues with my router recently and after some research, found this could be an issue. I just noticed Mac and Mini had DCHP with manual IP selected so I have changed them to manual.

Again, my router has been acting up recently, so I have switched to an older airport extreme and I have unplugged the two apple TV 4 units I own. Hoping to see this issue go away to help isolate what is going on.

DHCP lease duration is 1 day. I have reduced it down to 30 minutes to troubleshoot. Hoping to see this issue go away with the ATV4s powered off and the lease dropped.

I do use wifi for my iPad, iPhones, kindles, a couple of web cams. I have some Wemo home automation products that are on my wifi network using DHCP as well as several Sonos speakers.

I can use airplay using only wifi. With bluetooth off, it still works.

The AirPort Express is a client on my network and has airplay enabled. Wifi is essentially off except for what ever apple uses for airplay. It hasn't recurred since I discovered it yesterday, so I will keep an eye on it. Unfortunately using the Airport Express is the only way I can get AirPlay into my Sonos system, since Sonos is recalcitrant about licensing the technology from Apple.

Thanks for assisting me. I appreciate it.

I see. Seems kind of tough to downgrade a full wireless router to a simple client. Just to fill me in, how do you connect to the Sonos itself? Audio cable, bluetooth, WiFi?

As I mentioned, I expect the Airport Express will request a new IP every time it's powered up. The old ones will be left hanging until their leases expire. Hope you haven't set that time too long.
