El Capitan Installation seems to have murdered Safari

Hi All,

About 2 weeks ago I installed OS X El Capitan onto my MacBook Pro, I had been having a few problems where my old operating system (if that's what it's called) wouldn't open certain sites, installing El Capitan seemed to fix that.... until last night.

I was on safari absolutely fine, came out of that to do some work on MS Powerpoint and when I tried to go back into Safari it was just a no go area. Safari opens for all of 2/3 seconds and then closes again before I can do anything. The strange thing is that Safari is working perfectly well on my Guest Account. I've tried to access safari settings etc. but I can't find them (this may just be me). I've tried to re-install El Capitan in case something went wrong then but I get a message saying it's not yet available in the UK store... well how the **** did I manage to install it 2 weeks ago then?!

I don't know how to fix this so would be grateful of any advice, especially if it works! I'm not technically gifted so if you could give me an "Instructions for dummies guide" that would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Danielle

any problems due to this installation would have showed themselves instantly.

If you are having problems two weeks later, they are NOT caused by the installation.

One very common problem is accidentally installing adware. Try the suggestions in this article:
