Q: music not automatically syncing

New iMac with El Capitan 10.11.4, iPhone 6+ ios 9.3.1

iTunes settings: Backups, This computer (iCloud not checked)

Options: Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected

Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi

Newly downloaded songs don't automatically show up on iPhone like they did on my recently replaced iMac. Automatic music downloads turned on on iPhone. I have to manually sync. Suggestions appreciated.

Do you have iCloud Music Library turned on?

Thank you! I haven't downloaded any new songs today, but have changed my settings based on your recommendation and reading the link. I don't subscribe to Apple Music though. Will that make a difference?

Just synced my phone. Playlists are different on the phone than what shows on my phone. For some reason iPhone play lists don't match the play lists shown on iTunes on the computer. Ack!
