internet not working from hotspot

Hello, I have an iphone SE, the mobile data on it works just fine.

The wifi connectionn on my macbook works on every network i connect it to, same goes for the iphone SE.

When i create a hotspot from my Iphone SE the Macbook connects to it but has no internet acces. While the Macbook is conected to the hotspot the iphone has a working internet connection.

I do not get any error messages....How do i find out what is not working

You say the MacBook connects to the WiFi hotspot.

Do you therefore see the hotspot symbol in the upper right of the menu bar:

Have you established Personal Hotspot capability with your cellular carrier? (This often carries an additional charge.)

Yes I do see the symbol in the upper right corner and my carrier does have hotspot capabilities and no restriction to hotspot or mobile data... I have full unlimited mobile data plan subscription. It connects and it even alocates my macbook an ip adress. Everything looks fine but i get no internet connection. If i try to ping a adress ex google, i get nothing no time out no reply no nothing just the dash.

So this is very wieerd for me

Are your Mac and your iPhone connected using the same Apple ID?

You say the internet does not work. I am guessing this means you use your browser and it fails.

Have you tried other apps? For example, in the Mail app, can you use Mail's menu to go to Window > Connection Doctor and determine you have a valid connection?

Have you tried System Preferences > Network > Assist Me?
