On my iPhone I went in and changed my gmail address to my default.
BUT - every time I try to sent a photo it is sent from my iCloud account - it doesn't even give me the option of changing it in the email - nor can I erase the iCloud email address.
What else can I do to sent photos from my gmail or default account rather then the iCloud email??

It would seem the iCloud email is set as the default - which is also why you cannot delete it
Settings - Mail, Contacts etc - scroll down to Contacts - change the default account to Gmail
I already tried that - - set my default email to GMAIL -and restarted my iPhone a few times and still my photos that I send from my iPhone are sent from my iCloud account
Begin by composing your email using the Mail app. Presumably this email is being composed using your gmail account.
When ready to add the photo, press and hold the body of the email where you wish to place the photo. You should see "Select ... Select All ... Paste ..." click the right-facing arrow. Click "Insert Photo or Video". Then you will be all set!
