Q: Apple TV: Gen-2, no audio

I have an Apple TV, Generation 2.  I have successfully set up Air Play with my MacBook Air.  However, I do not get any audio.  The issue occurs when I use Air Play thru my laptop, and when I try to watch any of the shows on the myriad of channels/networks that are accessible thru the Apple TV.

 

I have reset the TV, updated the software, and still no audio. 

 

Any recommendations to resolve this issue

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
