Ipod nano 7th gen not responsive

Just bought an ipod nano 7th gen from best buy and turned it on and it worked fine, as soon as I synced it to itunes and synced my music onto it (only 100 songs), it no longer is responding to touch, you have to click on something about 7 times for it to work. Also it won't let you slide the screen right to get to the last 2 icons (clock and settings) it makes you slide screen up. It also has a black box around each icon when I try to select it. I restored ipod 2 times and it is still not working. Is this common with this nano? I guess I will be sending it back and getting a non apple mp3 player.

The "black box around each icon," and difficulty using iPod normally, sounds like some Accessibility features may be enabled. This is the user guide

https://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1624/en_US/iPod_nano_2015_user_gui de.pdf

See Chapter 11 starting on page 48 for information on the Accessibility features, including how to turn them ON/OFF.

You said you "restored ipod 2 times" but later you said you did the Reset twice. A Restore is done using iTunes (not on the iPod) and it erases the iPod, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings. A Reset only restarts the iPod. Here's how to d a Restore

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

If the iPod is not operating properly, you should try doing a Restore (if you have not already). Since it is then back to its original settings, it should work properly again. If Accessibility feature were turned ON by mistake, they should be OFF after the Restore.
