Backlight turns on bit no image on Mac Book pro

My mac book pro with retina displays backlight will turn on, so the screen works, but t won't show any image. It's a blank screen. Can someone tell me what it is and/or how to fix it?

What specific Mac? maybe:

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

- Try connecting an external monitor to see if that works

- If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
