Replace SSD in Macbook Air (Early 2014)

Hi everyone,

I want to replace the SSD in a MacBook Air (13-inch, early 2014) model. Currently it conains a 120GB Apple SSD but I'm pretty much reaching the storage limit.

I want to upgrade to a 500 GB SSD.

When I see the iFixit website, it shouldn't be too difficult:

However, I'm not sure which SSD I can buy. Did somebody do a SSD upgrade for their MacBook? And which SSD did you bought?

I wanted to upgrade it with the Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD but I've read some different topics on the internet saying that it won't fit / work with the MacBook Air.

I can buy a SSD on the iFixit website but it will cost nearly $ 600,- dollar which is way too much in my opinion.

Any tips on how to upgrade my SSD for a decent price?

p.s. Does anyone know if Apple sells separate SSD's to customers?
