I have the same problem. I used my Mac Mini Desktop Finder to delete many files stored in iCloud, but the iCloud storage still registers at 4.9 Gig even though the kbyte sized files I see there hardly add up to more than a couple of MB. At one point I thought the problem was a large amount of music files I had uploaded to iCloud, but I deleted those and the problem persisted. Then I thought it was the backup of my iPad to the cloud, but I removed that and changed the setting and it didn’t change the free space in iCloud.
