Q: Resetting Macbook Pro to original factory settings and re-plugging in iPhone.

Hello,

I recently reset my Macbook Pro (newer model) to it's original factory settings and as I had a semi-clean drive afterwards, I decided to plug in my iPhone 6 so as to re-sync my photos and music. However, when I had plugged it in for iTunes I got a pop up saying my iPhone had already been synced to a computer under the same name as my Macbook... Because I reset my Mac, it shows up as a separate computer so I can only guess it was referring to my previous hard drive before I reset my Macbook back to it's original factory settings. So, wanting to keep my iPhone and iTunes together I chose the "erase and sync" option. As expected, it only erased all the music I had previously had on my iPhone. My question: Is there a place I can check where the "previous" computer my iPhone was synced to is and if so, can I remove it? It does not show up as a device I can remove off my iTunes devices so...?

You have to deauthorize all devices since you no longer have access to the previous drive.

Normally you could deauthorize a single device, but since the hard drive was wiped, there is no way to deauthorize that single version of iTunes.

To deauthorize all devices tied to your Apple ID, open iTunes > Store > View Account (type in password) > Click "Deauthorize All"

Note that you will now have to authorize each device you want to use with your Apple ID.
