Q: Want to use a mid2011 iMac as TD for new 5K iMac

Thanks Duane! I had heard that the reverse was possible, but no one ever said how they did it. It would be such a waste to have a perfectly good iMac just sitting around when it could serve as my second monitor. Thanks so much....i'm going to give it a try right now!

I'm back...didn't work. I went through every bullet point. F2 + Command, then F2 + Fn + Command....nothing. I logged out of the old iMac and pressed F2 + Command at the login screen (all things they said to try). The keyboard is the original aluminum, so that's not it either. Is there something else i'm missing? I'm actually trying on a late 2009 iMac right now (trying for someone else as well; this one is listed as compatible). The only other thing I can think of is the wire: it is a Mini Display to Thunderbolt....but it says that should work. Any thoughts?
