GPS route - from a watch to a scanned map

The question is how do I take GPS data (for example in GPX format) and display my route on a scanned map (i.e. not on any map portal)?

Details - during my orienteering training or competition, I use a watch with GPS tracking function (specifically TomTom but that may not be important). The watch tracks my route during the orienteering race. There are special and very detailed maps used for orienteering events. After my race, I would like to download the data from my watch and to transfer them into my orienteering map. Does anyone know about any app for Mac?

I know there is an application for Windows, however I do not want to Parallel Desktop or any other similar tool. Thank you.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)
