Right click on Apple logo and select About My Mac.
The only information you do not want to share is your Serial Number.
He will probably also want to know how much hard drive space you have and also whether or not you have an SSD.

There must be something more there because if you post a serial number in these forums, the Hosts will quickly excise it. Note this excerpt from Apple's Forum article callled, "How to Write Good Question":
Include your product name and specs such as processor speed, memory, and storage capacity. Please do not include your Serial Number, IMEI, MEID, or other personal information.

Yes model number is fine, everything except the Serial Number which is also on the box.
