Is your iPad company owned? You don't need a passcode for updates, so you will need to provide some more information as to where you are seeing this requirement.

Try the passcode you use to unlock your devices.

Are you sure? On mine, Settings > iTunes & App store > "free downloads" > I have mine set to require a password; wouldn't app updates be part of that?

Having said that, I just realized the OP could also be referring to the Apple ID password on a Mac?

I have no clue what is going on now. I could swear that this question was posted in the iPad forum yesterday. I do not follow the iTunes Store forum and I see this must have been relocated.

I assumed that the OP was speaking about iOS updates, not app updates. Passcode vs password makes the whole thing a little more confusing, IMO.

Yes, well, I no longer do either - when I posted, the thread was in the "Using ASC" forum and, from the OP's question, it was not clear if s/he was referring to an iDevice or computer as some posters use the word "passcode" even on a Mac.

So, obviously, this was moved (again?) and there is nothing further for me unless the OP clarifies exactly what s/he is needing help with.
