My iPod Touch 4th Gen isn't connecting to iTunes

Basically my 4th gen isn't being recognized by iTunes, I've ran diagnostics and it just says nothing's connected - although my computer recognizes my "Apple iPod" as it always has. There's nothing wrong with my computer, I can assure you, and there is nothing wrong with my USB cable as it charges just fine and my computer recognizes the connection.

When running the diagnostics it states the following:

**** Device Connectivity Tests ****

iPodService 12.3.3.17 (x64) is currently running.

iTunesHelper 12.3.3.17 is currently running.

Apple Mobile Device Service service 3.3.0.0 is currently running.

No Universal Serial Bus Controller found.

No FireWire (IEEE 1394) Host Controller found.

Most Recent Devices Not Currently Connected

I'd appreciate a solution or an explanation, preferably both 🙂

Thank you

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.6
