Q: Ram Upgrade iMac 27 5k 2014

Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade the ram, currently, the iMac iMac 27 5k 2014, has 8 gb. I would like to know whether it is advisable to upgrade by adding sticks of ram all the same capacity in gb or you can also, for example, to add to the current 8gb(4 +4) two banks of 8gb and then a configuration 4 + 4 + 8 + 8 for a total of 24GB? I had read in some forum that the ram works better if the banks are the same size. I would also like to know if the Rams who are currently inside iMac have the DDR or DDRL? Because I noticed that many manufacturers specify the voltage of 1.35V or 1.5V. Thanks ... and sorry for the bad English.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 27 inch 5k 2014
