Q: Trackpad acting odd. Insensitive to touch and top 1/3 hardly works.
HI, My Macbook Air is just out of its 3 year apple care and the trackpad has starting acting odd.
It is insensitive to touch and the top 1/3rd in particular is almost dead unless you scrub it hard. It makes it very jumpy to use, and it has now got to the point it is unusable.
Another side effect seems to be that the keyboard kind of gets stuck as if CAPS LOCK is on when the trackpad is acting odd.
If I connect a magic mouse and disable the trackpad, then it works fine and no issues with the keyboard.
So my thought was the trackpad is faulty. I bought a new apple replacement trackpad and replaced it thinking it would solve the problem, but it acts exactly the same way - so it does not appear to be the trackpad and would point to something between the trackpad signal and I think.... the motherboard maybe?????
Any ideas?
Thanks
MacBook Air, iOS 9.3.1
