How do I switch Desktop spaces using Apple Remote Desktop

I am using Apple Remote Desktop. The client systems have multiple desktop spaces. How do I change from one desktop space to the next, from ARD, on the client system. (right now I use spotlight to bring up mission control. (I heard that fn+F9 on an apple keyboard would work... have both the wired and wireless apple keyboards... fn+F9 is not working for me). Is there a supported key combo?

Mac mini (Late 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 16G & 2TB

What I do (which may be less than ideal), is on my local Mac where I am running ARD, I use CTRL + Number to navigate desktops, or the multifinger gestures to access Mission Control.

On the remote Mac, I set up CTRL + Left Arrow and CTRL + Right Arrow to change desktops and CTRL + Up Arrow to access Mission Control.

It is less than ideal to have 2 ways to do things, but I haven't found any other way around it that works for me.
