red ipod nano

Don't know where else to put this topic so I try here. In other countries, ex. USA it's possible to buy a red iPod nano. Apple will give some of the money they'll get for selling this to HIV/AIDS.
Do anyone know if it's possible to buy this anywhere in Australia?

You may be better off addressing this question/request to Apple. If enough voices are heard then it's possible that the nano Red will be made available in your country. Enough voices were heard when originally Apple only provided Red in 4GB but many users wanted it in 8GB.

As for them shipping from the US to Australia...I would assume they don't do it because of the hassle of making sure you follow exporting rules and regulations for each country you're exporting to a "T"...since countries rules vary it's a tedious process. It's not as simple as just paying for postage and calling it a day. If you have someone in the US that you know and trust well you could get them to purchase the Red for you and then do the shipping. I have done this for a couple of friends (not for the Red but friends that live in Europe that wanted iPods that were not made for them and did not have the volume cap issue that their do).

What Australian legislation is there to work through? All the time we have fund raising promotions through different funds where a proportion of sales etc for a particular period or product are given to charity.

i asked the Australian apple store today why the product was available in New Zealand and was told "The iPod nano RED Special Edition is currently not available on the Australia Online Store.

As Apple do not pre-announce product release, I am unable to provide you more information on your request. " and
on the question of if I could buy it from New Zealand

"Unfortunately, if you would like to purchase from the New Zealand Apple Online Store, you will need to have a New Zealand credit card, billing and delivery addresses as Apple currently does not deliver its orders outside its respective store.

In addition, we are unaware when the limited edition iPod Nano (Red) will be available at the Australia Online Apple Store.

Please kindly check our website for frequent updates on new launches or products at the following link: http://www.asia.apple.com/hotnews/"

Once again it seems that we in Australia receive the last and lowest level of service.

I love the apple products, but the quality of service we receive in Australia is worse than any other i have experienced

hi guys,

i have a red 8gbs nano and i'm in australia.

basically i asked my sis who lives in hk to get it for me

apart from ebaying it, you should consider yr friends or relatives that lives overseas, coz basically all countries have it besides australia...

and i donno what's wrong with johnny howard for not allowing apple aust to just sell it, but if you want it sometime soon, friends or family overseas are the way to go.

besides it's free shipping to them locally, so you can just ask them to register post to you.

cheers
