Apr 27, 2016 3:50 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby Mr Big Problem,Safe mode takes me to a slower loading screen that always hangs and doesn't move after a point. From what I've gathered, an SMC reset is if hardware isn't working so would it still help me even though everything hardware on my Mac is fine?

Apr 27, 2016 3:59 AM in response to Mr Big Problemby OGELTHORPE,Your best option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation. I suspect that the HDD in your MBP is faulty.

Apr 27, 2016 4:11 AM in response to Mr Big Problemby OGELTHORPE,Based on the information that you have provided and if I were in the same situation, I simply would replace the HDD. I grant the possibility that I might be wrong but I would be willing to take the risk of an expenditure for a new HDD.
The only other option that you might consider is contacting Apple and investigate shipping the MBP to them for repairs.
Ciao.
