iCloud calendar shows constant pop up error about bad URL 404

Someone please help me with this. Its been going on for months and I'm at my wits end. I cant use my calendar on my Mac at all without a constant pop up every few seconds telling me my iCloud calendar server responded with a 404 error. I updated to El Capitan when it first came out but only had this issue starting about 3 months ago. How do I fix this??

You should have right clicked on the icon and unsubscribed to the problem URL. Enable iCloud again and see if the problem re occurs. You can also go to iCloud.com and check out the subscriptions at the website.

For more info on iCloud. When problems occur with corrupt databases, signing out of iCloud completely via the iCloud pane in System Preferences will remove corrupt databases from the computer. When you sing back into iCloud, new databases will be put on the computer and you will need to re-enable all services you were using.

It asks if I want to share the calendar but it does not appear that its already been shared. I am hesitant to sign out if iCloud due to it saying it would delete information off my mac. I already lost 2 years worth of calendar entries Im not sure what else it would remove or if I would get it back. I have disabled the calendar in setting and in iCloud and re enabled them and the error returns.

For information in iCloud such as Contacts, Calendars, etc., you won't lose any info unless you actually delete the info from it. Logging out of iCloud does not remove any information from the server, only from the computer. When you sign back into iCloud and re-enable services, the information gets put back on the computer. You can verify exactly what's on the server by going to iCloud.com and logging into the website.

And you should also have a backup of your infomation in case things do go wrong so that information can be restored. Time Machine is the best I've seen for this purpose because you can go back to different times to recover information.

Correct. Deleting info removes from the server and all devices using iCloud. Signing out only removes it from the device you sign out on. Signing back in replaces info for whatever service you enable like Calendar. It will show any info available on the server.

Even if you aren't using Time Machine, you should create backups of your important data.
