nMpro: Wifi will turn off. Bad chips?

Just bought a refurbed nMac Pro (6-core, D300s, Yosemite) and the Wifi will randomly turn off (once a week for the last couple weeks) and will not respond to efforts to turn it back on. Restarting temporarily solves the issue. I have warranty and I'll probably get it serviced once we're done using it for video work but just wanted to know if anyone else has seen problems with the Wifi chips in these models? Is there a software fix?

Might be corrupted network preferences ...

Open the Finder.

From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Then type or copy paste the following:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files SystemConfiguraton folder to the Trash.

Restart the Mac and monitor Wi-Fi.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.
