You cannot. None of the Apple iOS bundled apps can be deleted.
You can't. It is one of the standard apps and cannot be uninstalled. One thing you can do is move it out of the way -- for example you can add it to a folder with other apps that you don't use that can't be uninstalled and move that folder to the last home screen.
SSI Steve,
You can't remove it but you can go into
Settings,
General,
Restrictions
enter your passcode
and disable Safari
You won't see it.
Then find some alternate browsers such as Brave or Opera Mini
Just remember how to reverse the steps when you will want Safari back.
My safari app has been hijacked and it says safari-develops.net. I am unable to turn this off in any way Have you got any suggestions?
My safari app has been hijacked by safari-develope.net. It attempts to send some sort of email and the telephone number 1-844-823-6760 is mentioned on the screen. I am unable to get off of this screen
Force Close Safar, by double tapping the home button, and swiping the Safari screen shot off the screen
Then go into Settings->Safari->Clear History and Website Data and clear it.
Try opening Safari again.
SSI Steve,
In that case, follow the advice give by John Galt in: Phony "tech support" / "ransomware" popups and web pages
I Had the same exact issue today! Did exactly whats stated here and restarted my phone and now works perfectly.
I am not as tech savvy but have been using apple for the past decade, and iOS is the only operating system I choose to use due to best against viruses. So please, can someone elaborate why this happened? I called the 800 # and they were very persistent that "downloading this software in your apps store will fix everything and any future issues, for a one time fee of $34.96"... Got hung-up on 3x by 3 different Senior tech analysts, theN finally got to the 4th (Rick) who recommended the only resolution was to go to an apple store and have them tell me I have to pay the $35.

Glad It worked for you.
You should never call the numbers that appear.
It's a scam. They try to get you to download there software, and will scam you off of your information or money. Hope you did not give them any personal details when you called.
Why it happen: it could be due to an ad in the page you were visiting or the page itself is serving up this popup. At the end of the day its a way to mak money for a nu nber of people.
Best option, is to just ignore them, and never call the numbers, or provide any personal information.
Thank you. That answer solved the same problem.
This number is a total scam where they hack your information
on your device. I logged onto a "Yelp" website, clicked on a name and
all of a sudden my device had this popup (that looked like an email) asking me
to contact Apple at 844-823-6760 ASAP and it would not allow me to get out of
that screen, nor would it allow me to access Safari Browser! I then called that
number and the guy didn't even say he was from Apple and only said they were
located in Manhattan, NY! He insisted I give him my ipad serial & model
numbers and stated he could not help me further UNLESS I FIRST provided him
with that info.! I asked him to just advise on how to get rid of that popup and
how I could re-log back into Safari but he would not w/o that info! I told him
that I would contact Apple directly because I did not know if he was a hacker
and he abruptly hung up!
BEWARE OF THIS!
When I called Apple directly they walked me through deleting
that info. & also deleted everything I had saved w/in my Safari browser.
They had to do that to insure the safety of my device. They also said that
Apple would NEVER send you a popup or an email or a telephone call asking you
to contact them for anything! Ever!
PLEASE BEWARE AND DO NOT DO NOT GIVE THE REPRESENTATIVES OF
THIS TEL NO YOUR DEVICE'S INFORMATION!!!
You're absolutely right Phil0124 on how to basically reboot your Safari.

Steve,
Scroll down and see what Phil0124 said about basically rebooting your Safari browser and see what I wrote about what happened to me when I logged into a website and received an email popup asking me to contact Apple immediately for further assistance.
It was scary!!!
Don't be scared, just delete and ignore
