No. The iPhone 6 does not have any user serviceable parts. If you try to repair or replace anything yourself, you void your warranty, and Apple will not work on the device ever again.

Counterfeit gives a connotation that the parts are somehow criminal. Apple does not make batteries, they buy them from other sources. Some of those sources do sell the identical battery to other people, such as iPad Rehab and they can install them in a persons phone. Same is true for a number of parts in the iPhone.

Apple doesn't make any of the parts in any of the products they sell.

The batteries in the iPhone are unique to the iPhone. It is not a standard size battery one can typically buy off the shelf. Apple's suppliers are prohibited under contract from supplying those parts to anyone other than Apple, or AASP's specifically authorized to service those devices. The same goes for the other parts in the iPhone. If you pay attention to the news, you will see stories of seizures of counterfeit iPhone parts on a regular basis.

I've seen articles of seized parts out of the Chinese factories that are clones but that is not the same thing. The majority of the batteries used in smartphones originally were from Sony not there are a number of manufacturers. Most of the iPhone and iPod batteries are not of any distinctive shape or size and Apple does not even design them unlike some other parts in the iPhone. Apple only dictates for most of the parts in the iPhone that the supplier cannot sell any parts with the Apple logo/part number to other sources. They do not prevent them from selling an identical size/shape/specification battery to other sources. And they certainly cannot prevent them from selling a better battery that will work with the iPhone. If you want to discuss the A series CPUs or other chipsets that is an entirely different question. Even the new 3D Touch screens aren't available (and Apple was involved in the design of those). But the battery is not yet like the one in the MacBook and is pretty generic. There is nothing about it that Apple holds any copyrights that would keep another manufacturer from making one that will work with an iPhone. They are not "counterfeit". They are just not Apple labeled.

Ibuprofen is not counterfeit Advil. It's the same stuff. The problem here is that you're right that there are many copy parts out there that aren't as good as the original part and take away from the brand. Most parts in eBay/Amazon are in this category.. But its not as cut and dry as saying ALL parts out there are copy. The reality is that there is a robust stream of boba fide original parts available, and that Apple does not have the kind of control that you think they do in preventing their many suppliers from making original parts available in a parallel supply stream. The counterfeit busts in the news were all about copy parts silk screened with the Apple logo--ie colored iPhone 4s back glass. That is complete BS, you can't represent a copy part as an original part. But all the better parts vendors have now taken efforts to be crystal clear--iPad mini digitizer a that are original parts from same manufacturer have home button replaced so that it does not have home button square, thus it will not appear to be represented as an Apple part when in fact it is the original.

it does take quite a bit of industry knowledge to be able to distinguish original quality parts from high copy, but originals are readily available. From and end user standpoint it is all about finding a supplier you trust with excellent part warranty.

I am not going to address patently ridiculous, completely unrelated analogies. Mendonipadrehab continues to promote unauthorized 3rd party service for iDevices using counterfeit, salvaged and stolen parts, and continues to fail to disclose a financial interest in doing so.

Nothing they say can be trusted in the slightest.
