Use the @ymail.com and make sure you have Internet connection and a valid credit card associated with that Apple ID.
Reset your password on the @mac.com account > Apple - My Apple ID
Then try the Apple Store.
If that doesn't help, contact Apple directly > Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security
