iphone 5 restarting every time I try to restore from iTunes

My iphone5 is restarting every time I try to restore from iTunes (in Windows laptop) back up. The back-up was made just before upgrading and now I can't restore. During the restart, I get a message from iTunes that my iPhone is disconnected and the restore cannot continue. I tried restoring to a different device, facing the same issue.
