Whatever the cause: there are two items that you better get rid of:

a. bittorrent: uninstall completely:

if you have used it to torrent download apps or "tools": uninstall them also completely.

next time download only from developer sites.

b. uninstall the AdblockUltimate:

when you want an adblocker install either Adblock (not plus or ultimate, just Adblock) or uBlock.

Restart and see how it goes.

The same problem is with me. It just freezes. So i found that, it`s not only mine problem but lots of people face the problem since 10.11.4 update:

http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbook-pro-2015-with-osx-el-capitan-10-11-4 -system-wide-freeze.1963711/page-7 << The Topic

Nothing helps.. Not even reformatting and clean install. The only solve of the problem is Rolling back to 10.11.3 and wait for future update.
Good Luck

Apr 27, 2016 5:39 AM in response to Lexiepex

clean install without any extensions and other software. just native apple apps. and if the problem still exists after that, is it customer's or apple's problem? and, why 10.11.3 has no problem? SURE it is 10.11.4 problem! everyone knows!
also, read the topic i've linked genius. of course, apple never says that it`s their software problem.

As i said, nothing will help.. Do not even try anything as i've tried everything but nothing helped me. I contacted AppleCere Support Centre twice and even they could not help solving the problem. THIS IS 10.11.4 VERSION ISSUE on Apple's end. Just wait for a new update. also, read the post i typed above and check the links i've posted. The only solution is to go back to 10.11.3 and wait for new update or fix to 10.11.4.
Good Luck
