Q: Why is the battery will consume although I have shut down my mac book?

I have select shut down my macbook, however couple days later when I try to on my macbook, it prompts battery flat.

May I know why the battery will get consume though I had shut down.

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), iOS 9.2

    My best guess is that you selected Shutdown, then closed the lid on your MacBook before the Shutdown fully completed, it then would have been in Sleep mode.

    Hi Lanny,

     

    Thanks for your feedback. However how did I know if the laptop had shut down?

    As every time after i select shut down, I will wait till the screen off and the keyboard light off only I will close the lid.

    Today when I on my laptop, it left only 50% of battery which it was fully charged before I shut down.

    Is it the battery problem? Or some apps or programs are running at background?
