ipod 5 touch just chimes when charging, wont turn on

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you can't get the previous owner to do this:

Then return for a refund.

If you can't return it then it is worthless to you except as poor flashlight with light from the screen.

Apple will not help.

I would also talk to the police since the device may have been lost or stolen.
