How to run tracks on Live Loop?

Hello,

I spent hours researching this but have gotten nowhere.

I am using and Iphone 5s and a Mac book pro. All have the latest operating systems and GarageBand versions.

First, am I supposed to see a Live Loops project option when I first open GB on the Mac and the "New Project" window comes up?

Second, when I figure the above out, could I create a live loop project and export it to GB on the iPhone 5s? via iCloud or other way?

If not, could I create my loops, or audio tracks, on GB for mac and open them on GB on the iPhone 5s and build a live loop project there?

The scenario is: I have 4 songs recorded on the mac which I am trying to import just the rhythm session tracks and use as a play-along live while playing the guitar and singing at a gig. This can be done in MS3 I know, but I am trying not to take the laptop out of the house.

Any masters out there who know how to solve this one?

Please! and thank you.

You cannot create Life Loop projects on a Mac. The GarageBand versions on your iPhone and the Mac are very different. Use smart instruments - Drummer, smart Strings, arpeggiators to to create an automatic backing track in GarageBand on the Mac.

You can create a Live Loop project on the iPhone and save it ito iCloud, then open it in GarageBand on the Mac, but the tracks will arrive as regular audio tracks, not Live Loop tracks. But iCloud is one-way. A project, that has been created or opened in GarageBAnd for mac cannot be opened in GarageBand for iOS. You can share the bounced song as an audio file to iTunes and then sync the finished song to the Music.app on your iPhone. Access it from there in the Loop Browser in GarageBAnd on your iPhone.

There is no way to upload a GarageBand for Mac project as a project to an iPhone or iPad, only as an audio file.

You can start projects on the iPhone and finish them on the Mac, but not the other way round, sorry.

That explains I got nowhere with that. Thank you for your time and expertise. I am now exporting tracks as .wav straight from my Logic Pro X project to iCloud drive and then loading that file on the Live Loop cells. So that solves that part.

I just posted another question about Live Loops functionality and perhaps you know the answer. I am trying to figure out if/how the columns play automatically from left to right without having to manually play them. I have all cells set to not loop and when they play the cells once through I want it to move automatically to the next column. Are you aware of whether or not Live Loop in GarageBand iOS has that functionality?

thanks again!
