Q: My App TV 3 (newer one) works on one of my TV's but not the other

My App TV 3 (newer one) works on one of my TV's but not the other. It's on Apple TV 7.2 It did used to work and then I think it stopped working after the Apple TV 7.0.3 Update, I found this website http://www.ipswdownloader.com/  that could maybe let me downgrade back to ATV 7.0.2.

Apple TV, Other OS, Apple TV 3 (2013 / Rev A) ATV 7.2.1

What do you mean by not working? No video at all, cannot play movies, what?

What model of TV doesn't work?

Have you tried changing the AppleTV resolution?

How is ATV connected to the TV? Direct HDMI cable from ATV to TV? Try reconnecting the cable firmly at both ends.

Any chance there's a network connection at the TV location?

Regarding downdating the software, you'll probably find that Apple is no longer "signing" the older version, which means you cannot install it.

Well it used to work then just all of a sudden stopped. Its just the same screen that shows if there's nothing connected. I've tried using all my hdmi cables both ways with both of the 2 hdmi ports on the tv. It's a Panasonic 42 inch that is now just 9 years old. There is not network difference between the TVs because therer rooms are next to each other. Yes I've tried different resolutions (doesn't) work The TV's model number is (Panasonic High Definition Plasma Television) TH-42PX60U. What's wired is that it doesn't work with my grandparents Panasonic TV and that's only about 2 or 3 years old.

Im getting the new Apple TV 4 (with the Siri remote and AppStore and stuff) in a week and a half so maybe that will fix my problem.

So, the diagnosis is no video at all when connected to this TV by direct HDMI. Behaves similarly on another TV, but continues to work normally on a third.

So we cannot say that the video output chip has failed, because then the failure would be total.

The reason I ask about resolution is that outputting 50 Hz video to a 60 Hz set would produce this symptom. This Get help with audio, video, or power on Apple TV - Apple Support offers some hints, including how to cycle your ATV through its output modes using only the remote.
