I backed up my new iPad Air2 using iCloud and now want to erase all content from my old iPad. How can I do this without also erasing the content from my new iPad?

Manipulating content on the old iPad will not affect content on the new iPad

Explanation: I usually am concerned about things such as notes and pictures - however if they are on the new iPad - and that is synced to the cloud then signing out of iCloud on the old device will not affect anything
(I personally have switched out 4 phones like that)
