System sounds cause Logic to drop audio...

Almost every time I get a notification with sound (text, email, etc.) through OS X, the audio playing through Logic will drop completely. No sound, no meters, nothing. The playhead will move along the timeline, but the tracks pass no audio. Sometimes I'll be playing a track and half way through I'll get an imessage, and Logic drops instantaneously.

All other audio sounds, however, continue to function as normal, such as iTunes, YouTube, and system sounds.

It can be fixed by resetting the audio engine by toggling CoreAudio in Audio Preferences, or re-loading the session, however that is not ideal. Enabling "Do Not Disturb" saves me some headaches, but again, not ideal.

Any ideas on how I can prevent this from happening?
