While you've got a lot going on for an old Mac with only 4Gb of ram I don't see indications that lack of ram is the problem. Your problem may be a failing hard drive or some other hardware problem.

Try resetting the SMC  Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

And booting into Safe mode Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

I also don't see the "usual suspects" looking at the software although you do have some outdated software that should be removed

Finally, you said you deleted the necessary files....what files and how did you delete them?

Your problem is indicative of a hardware problem, although some of this old SW can contribute to it. It is imperative that we ensure the HW integrity before running around too much deleting stuff, thus consider the following:

The Mac is using a dual channel memory system, i.e. RAM and although yours is not the quickest anymore with a throughput of roughly 1067Mb/s, loosing one half of it will bring your throughput down to half of it at 533 Mb/s which is the same as the RAM clock speed. It could be that one of your RAM modules has the faintest amount of FOD on it. Not enough to break down with the standard AHT, but enough for you to experience it under actual usage.

To rectify this is fairly simple: Power down your Mac.

Unscrew the bottom plate screws, taking care to note where the long and short screws go on it.

Discharge any static electricity, by touching the metal casing and the broad connected strip on the backplane. Best is to keep a connection to it while working. Take care, that if you loose this contact to discharge again.

Remove the RAM modules one by one taking care not to touch the edge connections at all.

Take a normal pencil rubber and carefully clean these connections.

Make sure that you are discharged and replace the RAM modules making sure that they are properly seated.

Clean the backplate, which would normally have accumulated some dust and dirt.

    Replace the backplate and screws.

    Connect your Mac and test.
