The matter of high quality RAM memory chip specification is the important factor.

Two sources have a good reputation and have tested their chips in the product

they are intended to be used in. If you buy from the authorized sources of parts

the Crucial or OWC macsales product will work adequately, and be guaranteed.

The Apple support articles do not specify the RAM chip voltage be 1.35v or 1.5;

there is a part number out there with the letter "L" implying low heat low voltage.

Since the Late 2012 Mini is similar to a 13-inch Mid-2012 MacBook Pro, in RAM

specs, these chips may be found under different part numbers by same Maker.

Given the Mini is not running from a battery part of its life, the 1.5v chip would be

adequate if from a reputable vendor with high quality parts. A portable MacBook

over the life of the unit, may best be served by low-power low-heat 1.35v RAM.

When I upgraded the RAM in my Late 2012 Mac Mini server two months ago,

I bought part numbers of Crucial RAM from a vendor I'm familiar with, and only

after contacting Crucial directly, to inquire why the part numbers differed for the

same spec RAM. -- The maker assured me the part was the same exact one, but

with a different number. And the vendor I use is one of their reputable customers.

So I chose to upgrade and the RAM chips are 1.35v and for less than most other

sources quoted for similar spec & same quality RAM memory chips; incl shipping.

Newer chip specs can be of lower power and still have similar data rate speed.

You can get good quality RAM chips from the same maker, that may have slightly

different part numbers; if in doubt, email the official site of the maker or in the case

OWC macsales.com, contacted direct, their product may be from several sources.

Crucial.com provides product & info to other resellers, incl. wholesale vendors.

I see your other question has answers here:

In any event...

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
