Messages to desktop displays non-phone texts...

Messages on my mac desktop used to allow me to SEE (but not send or respond to) texts from non-phones (green), but over the past few months it stops, then starts again. Now it has stopped for quite a while? I think I did something in the Preferences Accounts tab, but I don't recall what it is. I currently show Bonjour, Google talk, and iMessage.

Anyone know what makes it display or not display on the desktop? It was very helpful.

I understand that you are seeing an issue with sending SMS messages from your computer through your iPhone. This is a feature of Continuity, and can be addressed by the troubleshooting steps in this article:

It is unusual that you should be able to see but not respond to the messages

Normally Continuity is all-in - one can see as well as respond - just like having one's phone in hand

Please circle back to us if not seeing anticipated behavior
