Inserting movie into Keynote 6.6.1 - OSStatus Error 12945

I've inserted a qt video (.mov format) into a Keynote 6.6.1 presentation. When I try to play it i get OSStatus Error 12945. Google offers no help. The movie plays in qt, and in powerpoint. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
