Q: I bought an iPhone 4 online and it says i need to activate iPhone. I don't have the previous owners apple ID or password, so what can I do to activate it?

Today I bought an iPhone 4s from someone online. When i took it home to set it up, it asks to activate iPhone I need the previous owners apple ID and password. What can I do if I don't have that information? How can I activate this iPhone so I can use it?

Tell the previous owner to follow these instructions or give you a refund. If you can't contact them, you can't use that iPhone; Apple won't unlock it for you.
