cannot sync my ipod3 get unknown error 13014 message. Help?

I keep getting this message 13014. Nothing syncs. Is there a way to restore to factory settings? I have authorized the computer so I have no idea.

This "ipod3" is an iPod touch 3rd gen? If the iPod still appears in iTunes when connected, you should do a Restore using iTunes. You can do a create a backup before doing the Restore.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

If the iPod touch does not appear in iTunes when connected, can use the Recovery Mode procedure in this document

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support (See section Erase your device with recovery mode)
